Let's be honest: Web 2.0 can be kind of scary. With just a few clicks on a keyboard or taps on a touch screen, misinformation can "go viral," as we saw during the aftermath of the Boston bombings.
Thankfully, new storytelling platforms have emerged that allow editors to find credible social-media posts and put them into context. One such service, Storify, allows members to "curate the most important voices and turn them into stories" using words, social media, multimedia and more (Storify, 2013, para. 1). check out this recent Storify project by the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

I think it's hard to say if this is the future of story telling. It certainly can't hurt to have organizations that try to make sense of what people are posting on social media sites. This may be the beginnings of a "semantic web." Maybe...
